Focusing on What Matters

  • Access to public health resources is vital to supporting a resilient community. Trenton will work to protect our public health organizations from politically motivated attacks. He promises to help expand access to crucial health resources by supporting the Health Department’s efforts to receive state and federal grants. Furthermore, he will work to ensure that the requirements are met and that the funds have been allocated effectively.

  • Our region is facing a housing crisis due to decades of bad decisions that were aimed at preventing population growth rather than adapting to population growth with sustainable solutions. Unlike his opponent, Trenton believes that it is the responsibility of local government to address the housing crisis. Partnering with organizations like Housing North, increasing capacity of local governments and planning commissions, utilizing existing resources like our Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and Land Bank, and providing tools and resources to local and nonprofit developers will bring more affordable housing options to seniors and the hard-working folks in Grand Traverse County.

  • Civic engagement and transparency in local government stand as fundamental pillars for fostering trust, accountability, and a thriving community. By promoting civic engagement and transparency, Trenton is dedicated to empowering residents with valuable information, encouraging citizen participation, and working tirelessly to create a government that operates openly, efficiently, and in the best interests of the people of Grand Traverse County.

  • Trenton understands that true safety is the result of thoughtful planning, effective partnerships, and a forward-thinking approach to tackling the unique challenges facing our community. From protecting our watershed from toxic pollutants, to fostering collaboration between the Sheriff’s Department and CMH, Trenton approaches community safety from the mindset that collaboration across all sectors is key to our resiliency as a community. Grand Traverse County should be a place where every individual can live, work, and play without fear.
